Assessments
sTANDARDIZED TESTING
With our commitment to academic excellence, we participate in standardized testing in both General and Jewish Studies — Acadience Learning and Avant respectively.
At Bialik, assessment is more than just data collection — it’s a powerful tool for responsive teaching. Teachers and administrators regularly analyze assessment trends to:
-
Identify strengths and areas for growth
-
Guide instructional planning
-
Inform our program enhancements
Assessments play a vital role in our commitment to academic excellence. Thoughtful, data-informed teaching helps us better understand each student’s progress and continually refine our programs to meet their evolving needs.
Acadience LEarning
We use a range of standardized assessment tools to monitor student achievement and growth across key subject areas. One of our primary assessment tools is Acadience Learning, an in-depth diagnostic assessment tool that focuses on foundational literacy skills. Acadience provides timely and specific insights, allowing us to tailor support based on each student’s individual progress.
Our assessments are built around authentic, real-world texts and are designed to evaluate core language and comprehension skills. They also serve as an important measure of accountability, ensuring that our teaching practices align with the highest standards of learning.
Through an ongoing cycle of reflection and improvement, we ensure that every student receives the targetted, meaningful instruction they need to thrive.
AVANT Assessment
In Jewish Studies, we have introduced Avant STAMP 4S — an internationally recognized online test of reading, writing, listening and speaking.
Avant STAMP 4S is a standardized assessment in Hebrew proficiency for students in Grades 3-7.
The results provide the school with objective, quantitative measures of Hebrew proficiency, on both individual-student and cohort-wide levels.
On an individual level, assessment data helps teachers direct instruction to the needs of each of their students. The assessment results also allow our administrative and teaching teams to measure cohort- and school-wide learning progress and program effectiveness.
