Bialik is pleased to introduce a new administrative position for the 2024-25 school year — Dean of Student Services, Jewish Studies. This is an opportunity for a dynamic and passionate educator with leadership experience to join our exemplary Jewish Studies teaching faculty.

Reporting to the Director of Curriculum, this position will be crucial in ensuring the holistic development, well-being and academic success of our students. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in leadership, understanding of Hebrew language acquisition, special education, knowledge of Social Emotional Learning, as well as the facilitation of learning extension opportunities. With this being a new position, the successful applicant will have the opportunity to shape our students’ school experience while developing the extent of this role.

The successful applicant will work at both our Viewmount (midtown Toronto) and Himel (Vaughan) Branches.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Ensuring our Social Emotional Learning program is fully integrated into students’ daily classroom experience
  • Supervise Resource teachers with respect to IEP writing and implementation to ensure that student needs are effectively met.
  • Facilitating learning extension opportunities for students
  • Actively participating in the daily operations and decision-making processes alongside school administrators.


  • Leadership experience in an educational environment
  • Understanding of Hebrew language acquisition
  • Knowledge of Social Emotional Learning
  • Ability to facilitate learning extension opportunities
  • Passion for curriculum development and pedagogy
  • Collaborative approach in working with colleagues
  • Strong problem-solving skills and work ethic
  • Well organized and detail oriented


  • Native or fluent Hebrew speaker with relevant experience and/or credentials, qualified to work in a Hebrew immersion environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in education or equivalent
  • OCT certification or equivalent
  • Familiarity with language proficiency theory and the ACTFL scale is an asset
