Senior Division Jewish Studies Teacher (Long Term Occasional)
Bialik Hebrew Day School is seeking a passionate and dedicated Jewish Studies Teacher for a full-time Long-Term Occasional position. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Hebrew Language and Tanach to Grades 6-8.
Responsibilities:
● Deliver engaging and interactive lessons in Hebrew Language and Tanach.
● Develop and implement curriculum aligned with
● Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters student learning and
growth.
● Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback.
● Collaborate with other teachers and staff to enhance the Jewish Studies program.
Classroom Management
● Create a positive, safe classroom environment that promotes respect and cooperation
● Implement effective and developmentally appropriate classroom management strategies
to maintain a productive learning atmosphere
● Manage classroom behaviour in accordance with school policies
Communication and Collaboration
● Maintain open and effective communication with students, parents, and fellow teachers
and administration
● Participate in Parent Teacher Conferences and school meetings
Skills and Experience
● A teaching certificate from Israel or Ontario is recommended
● Demonstrated fluency in Hebrew is essential
● Strong knowledge of Tanach and Jewish Studies
● Experience teaching Hebrew Language and Tanach is preferred
● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
● Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners
● A passion for Jewish education and a commitment to fostering a love of learning in
students
