Divisions - Preschool

The right start can make a life-long difference! A child's early years are critical; they lay the groundwork for a lifetime of learning. Young children require nurturing, warmth, stimulation and hands-on activities in an environment that promotes the academic, emotional, social and physical growth of each child. Bialik's preschool offers all this in an environment that engages young students with problem solving, inquiry and discovery. Nurturing teachers provide close attention to each student in a supportive, creative and dynamic setting.

In addition to following the curriculum outlined in the Kindergarten Program of the Ontario Ministry of Education, we introduce our students to basic Hebrew vocabulary through circle time, music and play. Jewish holidays are a source of integrated learning. Parents enjoy visiting our classrooms on Fridays for Shabbat. Our Preschool classes celebrate the holidays through music, drama, dance and crafts.

Our integrated kindergarten programs provide the opportunity for children to connect their learning in ways that can develop literacy, numeracy and social skills, as well as provide the opportunity to acquire information. Our learning opportunities promote the growth of students' reasoning, creative thinking and inquiry skills. Planned activities enable and encourage children to explore, create, question, predict, attempt, analyze and reflect. Through engagement and meaningful play, our students build a strong foundation of self-confidence and a positive attitude toward learning.

As children learn naturally through play, this is an essential part of our kindergarten program. Our students are immersed in a rich play environment, where they have opportunities to engage in meaningful activities, such as blocks and construction, sand and water, puzzles, games and dramatics.

Bialik's Preschool challenges your child to think, play, grow, share and learn. Our focus on the whole child and each facet of their social, emotional and physical growth add up to an early childhood education that is truly more than the sum of its parts.
