Vice Principal, Senior Division

Beverley Young

What I love most about being vice principal of Senior Division is the opportunity to be a part of this exciting stage of development in the lives of our students.  As they approach adolescence, our students blossom into independent and reflective thinkers who are aware of their world and their place in it.  Our teachers are dedicated to meeting the needs and individual profiles of their students and interpersonal connections between the students and their teachers enhance the learning making for warm and nurturing ambiance in the division. Participating in a wide range of educational experiences, our students are exposed to a dual general and Jewish studies curriculum which fosters the development of self-confidence and pride in their Canadian heritage and living connection to the State of Israel. By integrating opportunities for leadership and participation, both in class and through our House system, students put into practice the character traits that are embedded in our curriculum and collaborate in group work through which they apply critical thinking, creativity and problem solving skills.

In my role as vice principal, I am privileged to work in partnership with a dedicated cadre of educators, with highly motivated students who strive to attain their personal best and a parent body whose commitment to Jewish education and expectations of academic excellence parallel ours.  It is an honour to have been part of the Bialik family in the capacity of parent, teacher and vice principal. Over the years, I have been proud to be part of the ongoing changes. I am passionate about our commitment to offering the best opportunities for students to learn and grow, within the framework of our commitment to the Labour Zionist philosophy, a love for Israel, respect for Menschlechkeit and lifelong learning.
