Vice Principal, Elementary Division

Anita Eckhaus

As Elementary vice principal, I am thrilled to be working with a strong and dedicated group of educators and with so many wonderful students and their families.  It is a pleasure to watch the children come to school each day with a smile, the goal of doing their best, and a sense of enjoyment and enthusiasm for all the opportunities that present themselves in the division.  We are committed to educating the whole child, to building the skills and knowledge needed to help them succeed in the 21stcentury and to nurturing the development of good character (Mentchlichkeit).  Through the general and Jewish studies curriculum, our aim is to meet the needs of different learners, create confident individuals who can work collaboratively, think critically and solve problems together.  Our students will develop a strong sense of Canadian citizenship and a love for the State of Israel.

My years at Bialik as a parent, teacher and principal have cemented my belief in Bialik as an educational institution of excellence.  As a parent, I watched my children develop strong work habits and a love for learning.  As a teacher with a passion for science and math, I developed a hands-on science program and derived great satisfaction from the achievements of my students both at Bialik and in their further studies.  As a vice principal, it has been my privilege to work with a thoughtful and reflective faculty and administrative team.  Together we adopt best practices and new initiatives to create the best possible learning environment, while maintaining our Labour Zionist identity, our commitment to social justice and equal opportunity learning.

I look forward to welcoming you to our school and would be pleased to answer any questions you may have.  You can reach me at aeckhaus@bialik.ca.
